
Steve Harrill |
Director
Charles Stephen Harrill is an Assistant
Professor of Music at Pfeiffer University, where he also
serves as Vocal and Choral Activities Director. He is a
1977 graduate of Pfeiffer, and holds a Master of Music
degree from Converse College School of Music.
Before joining the Pfeiffer faculty, Mr. Harrill was
adjunct professor of voice, diction, guitar and music
appreciation at Gardner-Webb University from 1980 to
1985, and adjunct professor of voice at Catawba College
in 1988 and 1989. He has also served as Music Director
of the Stanly County Chorale in past seasons.
Mr. Harrill is a member of the National Association of
Teachers of Singing and has been awarded many honors in
his field. He was cited by North Carolina Music Clubs
for Musical Contribution to the Community, and in 2004
was named Teacher of the Year by the General Board of
Higher Education and Ministry of the United Methodist
Church. |

Stanley Scheer |
Accompanist
Stanley Scheer is widely recognized across North American for his expertise
in church music and organ design. Mr. Scheer earned degrees in organ performance
from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey where he was a student
of Eugene Roan, George Markey and Alexander McCurdy. He taught for twenty-one
years at Pfeiffer University, where he was Professor of Music and Head of the
Department of Fine Arts. He joined the staff of organ builder Casavant Frères in
Quebec in 1984, and during his eighteen-year tenure was actively engaged in the
design of virtually every organ built in the workshop. As vice president
emeritus, Stanley Scheer remains a close collaborator of Casavant Frères while
enjoying retirement. |
